Ontario has just gone through a provincial election and while education was not a major focus in the election, it has become a lightning rod early in the government’s mandate. Repeal of the physical education and health curriculum and returning to an older version has many people feeling that students have been left vulnerable.  As well, the government is establishing a snitch line for parents to call if they are concerned that teachers are not teaching the curriculum as required by the government.  These two items, along with a freeze on all agreed-upon executive compensation and the underfunding of executive health benefits have resulted in a very challenging beginning for this government and the ministry and educational community partners.
